Lee Malia was born on June 4, 1984, in Sheffield, England, United Kingdom.

He attended Sheffield Music Academy in England to learn music.

At an early age, he started learning Guitar with the help of his parents who were also a musician.

He got his high school education from Stocksbridge High School where he met Oliver Sykes and formed the band Bring Me The Horizon.
