From winning hearts as Sweety in Mirzapur to creating drama in Haiwaan, Shriya Pilgaonkar is making September unforgettable.
Shriya Pilgaonkar is having a standout September with two major projects. Her
performance as Sweety Gupta in Mirzapur: The Movie is getting a lot of praise,
and the movie is doing well at the box office. Now she's preparing for the
release of Haiwaan, a film starring Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan.
New behind-the-scenes footage from the Haiwaan song shows Shriya looking very
glamorous and stylish.
This is a different side of her that fans haven’t seen before. The song is
exciting, gives a preview of the movie, and makes people curious about her
character.
This timing is special because audiences are still celebrating her success
with Mirzapur, and now they’re getting to see a new side of her with Haiwaan.
Shriya has played a variety of characters, like Kashaf Quaze in Guilty Minds,
Madhu in Taaza Khabar, Radha in The Broken News, and Rukmini in Mandala
Murders. These roles are all in different worlds, which shows her versatility.
Because of this, she’s known as the OTT Queen.
Her filmography shows her ability to adapt and bring characters to life,
leaving a lasting impression on audiences.
The contrast between her two September releases is clear. In Mirzapur, she
returns to the beloved character Sweety Gupta, which many fans have followed
and loved over time. The recent teaser for the movie rekindled excitement, and
the strong opening has put her in the spotlight again. Just a week later,
Haiwaan offers a completely different experience, putting her in a big
commercial film, which is rare for an actor to have two major releases so
close together.
Shriya said, “What’s exciting about Mirzapur and Haiwaan is the difference in
looks and characters.
While I’ve done songs before, this is my first full-scale, glamorous Bollywood
number. It was a really exciting experience and different from the ones I shot
for Mirzapur. It’s a perfect Bollywood dance sequence with Saif, Akshay, me,
and Saiyami. We had a lot of fun on set. The energy was amazing, and Bosco
choreographed it. As an actor, I always wanted to be part of a song like this,
and I hope the audience enjoys it as much as I did filming it.”
After becoming a key face of the streaming era, she is now proving that an
actor can work across different platforms without being limited to just one.
The momentum continues beyond September with her upcoming film, Baara Number,
a horror movie directed by Vir Das. Her theatrical schedule is shaping up
alongside her strong body of streaming work. The OTT Queen has made her way to
the big screen, and if September is any indication, Shriya Pilgaonkar is ready
to take over.
